The game starts with each player laying out three face-up cards to create post piles, placing a face-up stack of ten cards beside them as the blitz pile, and holding the remaining cards in hand. Simultaneously, players strive to play cards from their blitz piles onto Dutch piles. A 1 on top of a Dutch pile initiates it, and subsequent cards must ascend in order, sharing the same color. Players can play a card from the blitz pile onto a post pile or move cards between post piles if the numbers descend and genders alternate. Unable to play, a player may reveal cards from their stack in groups of three, playing the top card if possible. A round ends when a player empties their blitz pile. Points are scored for cards in Dutch piles but deducted for blitz pile cards. Rounds continue until a player reaches 75 points, concluding the game. The Dutch Blitz: Expansion Pack enhances gameplay, accommodating up to eight players. The New Blue pack is designed to combine with the Classic Green pack, allowing play with 5 to 8 players. Players must match colors and numbers while creating Dutch piles and emptying blitz piles to score points.
