The saw plate is held straight and true by a thick, solid brass spine. The folded brass back means the blade is held under tension offering excellent rigidity and balance. The weight of the brass back aids the fine cutting ability of this saw. It comes with a handle made from stained European Beech and has brass button screws. The handle is attractive and comfortable in use. The 8 inch blade has a maximum depth of cut of 2-3/8". It has 20 TPI and is filed for rip cutting, making it perfect for cutting pins and tails for dovetails. The saw is hand sharpened before leaving the factory and can be resharpened.
